intro

Hello, my name is Shannon Williams. I do promotions for Magpie Gemstones. I hope to get you excited about giveaways and promotional events.
A bit about me- I was always finding rocks to collect as a little girl. The older I got, the more pretty I liked them! I have a little boy who is the love of my life. And a wonderful husband who adores me and my crazy bead addiction. I discovered as a Mom, I needed something that was just mine. I was re-creating my identity. I started playing with wire and sculpting it. I fell in love with making the Tree of Life necklace. It has become my signature piece. I add gemstone moons/suns to them. The Tree of Life has many meanings. My favorite is that we are all connected. It is a Universal symbol found in many spiritual traditions around the world. It symbolizes life itself.

You can usually find me barefoot outside, sipping coffee, hanging out with kids, my 2 dogs, my tortoise, and the deer in the yard. (I know never a dull moment) Or my other favorite places are my online shops Vixens Natural Jewelry Etsy  and Vixens Natural Jewelry Artfire and of course my Facebook fan page  I feel very lucky to work with a company with as much integrity and honesty as Magpie Gemstones. And Szarka feeds my bead addiction, so it is a match made in Heaven.

Running a Business on Facebook

Hello, my name is Shannon. I am the artist of Vixens Natural Jewelry
I love the handmade community. And support it every chance I get. I wanted to teach you some simple techniques to help your Facebook business grow.

I spent a lot of time on my products and not any on marketing. End result, lots of products, no views or sales. And that is very frustrating. I started doing more research on how to get noticed. There are lots of FREE ways to get your products seen. Here are some things that I did that really helped my business grow, and sales are nice also!

Facebook- I love Facebook business pages. Why? The people who "like" your page are the people who are interested in your products. I can chat with them, and have made friendships with people from all over the World. I get to interact with my fans on a more personal level. They know that I am a real person and laugh at my bad jokes. I get their insightful feedback. They support my work and I just love them. And to add the cherry on top, they share with their friends. It helps my business grow. All the views and fans also make my SEO better. Read more about Search Engine Optimization here SEO from Magpie Gemstones. I am building a community of friends, artists, and great people. It is a lot of fun.

How to make your Facebook Business Page
Now I wish I was "technical" but anytime I got stuck I just Googled the words "How to fill-in-the-blank." This should answer any questions you have about building a Facebook Business page Under Facebook Business Accounts I also found this helpful- Create a Facebook Business Page by following their directions here, and this is helpful also choose your business. I have a personal Facebook page so I just followed the directions and added a page to my existing account. I can manage both pages from my original account. Trying to keep it simple.

Getting More Fans on Facebook
I can tell you right now that I did not build my business by myself. I met many online friends and we all supported each other.  I asked my personal friends to like my page. Shop owners liked my page and I liked them back. We gave each other shout outs- type the @ symbol followed by the business page name. That helps share fans and you know where the shout out came from so you can return the favor. I did giveaways. My fans shared my page with their friends. The "share" button is very helpful. On my personal Facebook page I would "share" what was going on on my business page.  If you have a Blog, Twitter, Flicker or any other social media outlet, send them to your page! I made my first You Tube Video to bring in more fans. Szarka is so sweet, if you get beads from her at  Magpie Gemstones  she will post them in her  Client's Jewelry Blog then post that to her Facebook business page Magpie Gemstones Facebook. Now that is good business for everyone. We all help each other out. More suggestions for building and keeping your fans:
Welcome them, let them know who you are. Show some personality. Let them know your real and that you care about them. Customer service is really important to me and I let them know that. Engage in your page everyday.  I give my fans coupon codes to my online shop. Everyone loves an exclusive offer. They should feel important!

Show them what products you have
I currently run 2 online shops. I am here on Art Fire, and Etsy. I can post the links to my new products right on my Facebook page. So my fans (remember the people who like my handmade items) can see what I have to offer. It is a win for everyone, they get to see my new creations, and I get to sell them. We are all happy. I never dreamed I would do what I love, stay at home with my young son, and make a living. I am beyond grateful.
